Overijssel and Flevoland, Netherlands, 28th June to 3rd July 2007

The moorings at Steenwijk in the Overijssel Region (the two blocks of flats at the entrance do strange things to the wind!)

We went for a day trip on the Naturebus, a 1953 Swiss made vehicle

Our first stop was the strange waterworld of Gieethorn.  Flooded turf channels provide the town's roads.

Everyone gets around by either electric boats or on foot

Our next stop was Blocksjil, with its pretty harbour

and its 'green' modes of transport!
